There were many recalls on the NHTSA’s weekly roundup today; but first, one from the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2021-22 Grand Cherokee L. On these SUVs, the rearview camera image may not display—an industry wide problem, it seems, over the past few months.
Ford had missing turn signal failure warnings on the 2022-24 Maverick, as well as failing tail-lights; and badly secured seat belt anchor bolts on the 2020-21 Explorer/Lincoln Aviator.
Volkswagen was also well represented with backup camera problems on the Arteon, Tiguan, and Audi Q3; and early transmission failure on the 2025 Atlas including the Atlas Cross Sport. Rivian low-beam headlights may fail, while Toyota made 2021-25 Siennas with loose third-row seat bolts. GM may not have welded some Express/Savana vans’ door impact beams, and Jaguar’s old knee airbags may deploy “improperly.” 2024 electric Sprinters may stall, and Teslas may lose power steering.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
