The Dodge Charger, like the Wagoneer S, is shown both in the main Mopar section on the upper floor (back in the northwest corner), and downstairs in the electric-car ride area. While the two stationary Chargers didn’t get much attention, the two that were constantly running around the driving course attracted a consistent line, that remained longer than any other electrics—including the Wagoneer S.
Both the static and running displays had an R/T and a Scat Pack. The demo drivers seemed to run the cars with rather different levels of enthusiasm; certainly our Wagoneer S test didn’t come close to the acceleration of our Charger test, though the two should have been just one tenth of a second away from each other.
At least one reader seeing the Charger from above thought it had deep pockets that would hold snow and ice, but as you can see from these angles, those aren’t pockets; they are air paths through the front spoiler. (Some believe there won’t be one on the gasoline-powered cars.)
The interior was that of a sport-luxury vehicle, but quite a bit was shared with the Wagoneer S. That makes sense, since they are both STLA Large platform cars developed at the same time; though the Wagoneer S is made in Mexico and the Charger is made in Canada. On average they seem to be American.
More photos are coming, but in the meantime, there is quite a bit of Charger, inside and out, in the video above.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
