How much is the Wagoneer S, really?? (Updated)

The base price of the Jeep Wagoneer S remains a mystery, but the well equipped Launch Edition of the new 400V electric crossover, with a single-speed gearbox, has shown its price. It’s important to realize, though, that the Launch Edition is very well equipped with options many would not normally pay for.

The Launch Edition is stuffed with a great deal of luxury and convenience gear, and the base model is likely to be at least $10,000 cheaper. As examples, the Launch Edition has “Neo Ultra Lux Seats,” head-up display, the frunk, remote climate control, hands-free power liftgate, active driving assistance, adaptive cruise with stop-and-go support, rough road cruise control, surround view cameras, intersection collision prevention, blind spot and cross-path detection, pedestrian/cyclist emergency braking, rain-sensitive wipers, ten-inch center screen, 12-way power driver and passenger seats, heated steering and front and rear seats, ventilated front and rear seats, wireless charging pad, and McIntosh 19-speaker audio.

The base model is unlikely to have, say, McIntosh audio. It might not have bifunction LED reflector headlamps or LED fog lamps, and may have smaller wheels and tires than the Launch’s 235/50R20XL all season radials.

The price for the Launch Edition is $70,200 plus destination, before rebates, which have already been set up even though the Wagoneer S just entered production.

Jeep showed off a sample car at the Detroit Auto Show, which had (all numbers are rounded) $600 worth of paint, the $1,000 trailer towing group including trailer-detecting blind spot monitoring, and $1,000 of red seats. The destination charge was $1,800, so that the total price before rebates was $74,585.
