Last month, I was fortunate enough to be involved in the initial media testing of the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona – the brand’s first all-electric vehicle. While I still prefer the feel and sound of my Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, if I had to drive an EV, the new Charger Daytona is that EV that I would want to be driving. It handles nicely, it is very quick and the interior is spacious and packed with premium technology, but most importantly, it isn’t a bubble-shaped crossover-type thing like most EVs.
Now that the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is available in the Build and Price portion of the Dodge consumer website, I can price out my ideal electric muscle car. It should come as little surprise to anyone who regularly reads this website that I would pick the 670-horsepower Scat Pack, which comes standard with the Track Package and the Drive Experience Recorder for the 2024 model year – along with the Direct Connection Stage 2 kit that yields the 670 horsepower output.
Since the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack comes standard with the items mentioned above, it has an actual base price of $75,185, which includes the $1,995 destination charge. The only options for the 2024 Scat Pack are the Sun and Sound Package ($2,495), Demonic Red seats ($495), the Carbon and Suede Package ($2,995) and the Plus Group ($4,995). Also, while White Knuckle and Diamond Black can be had for no additional charge, all of the other colors come with a $795 fee. I love how Peel Out (orange) looks, so I would pay the extra coin for that color and the black painted roof, so it would kind of match my Hellcat Challenger.
I like the look of the black wheels and the interior trim of the Carbon and Suede Package, but not enough to spend the extra three grand. However, I would add the Plus Group for key items including the Attitude Adjustment Lighting, the leather performance seats and a long list of premium features that make the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack a better daily driver. Finally, I would add the Demonic Red seats to give the cabin a different look than the majority of the cars, which will come with black seats.
My ideal 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack in Peel Out with the Plus Group, Demonic Red seats and the standard packages of the 2024 model year (Drive Experience Recorder and Track Package) would have an MSRP of $80,970. That is a pretty big number, but it is reduced by $7,500 right away with the federal tax credit and in the lower $70s, it is priced similarly to the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat which offers similar performance numbers.
In closing, some of you might be wondering if I would select the Drive Experience Recorder and the Track Package if they were not standard on the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack. The answer to that question is yes and hell yes. The Drive Experience Recorder and the integrated camera system are great and the Track Package – adding the Brembo Ultra High Performance brakes and the Adaptive Damping Competition Suspension – is a must-have to get the most performance from the new Scat Pack.
