Once again Ford has a fire-related recall, this time on the 2020-22 Escape and 2021-23 Bronco Sport; cracked fuel injectors may cause a gasoline-fed fire. Around 34,000 vehicles sold in the United States are being recalled, presumably along with others around the world. This recall is only for vehicles fixed under one of two earlier recalls. While the problem is a cracked fuel injector, the fix is a software update. Ford also recalled the 2020-22 Explorer because the driveshaft could disconnect, letting the Explorer roll away. Be sure to check and set the emergency brakes.
The only other passenger-car recall announced this past week was from Volvo, which recalled a variety of gasoline-powered cars from 2020-22 because the high voltage battery may short-circuit; all were in the 60 and 90 series.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
