Ford is again dominating the recall lists, though they are not alone. The 2023 Ford F-250 and F-350 front windows may fail to reverse direction, while 2021-24 Mavericks and Bronco Sports may stall due to an undetected low battery. Rear view camera problems afflict the 2021-22 Edge, as well as the 2020-23 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator and Corsair and 2025 Escape. The steering column may fall off the 2025 F-250, F-350, and F-450, with predictable consequences, and a wide variety of 2024-25 Fords (albeit just 269 vehicles in the US) may have “unexpected movement” because the transmission was made badly, so that reverse can fail, causing the vehicle to move forward when in reverse or neutral.
Finally, 2021 F-150s may suddenly shift into neutral while driving, 2022-23 Transits may lose their climate controls, and the government has started an investigation on Ford trucks locking up the rear wheels while driving as part of unexpected downshifts.
GM came in at #2, with the 2023-24 Brightdrop vans possibly locking up their steering while driving, and 2017-18 Cadillac ATS, Chevy Camaro, and Corvette losing power steering—the 2016-18 CTS is also covered. (Non-power steering is still available.)
Other recalls were from BMW (brake fluid leaks on the 2025 X3), Mazda (hitches may come off the 2024-25 CX-50), Tesla (poorly glued trim may fly off while driving on 2024-25 Cybertrucks), and finally Stellantis, where the 2024-25 Jeep Wagoneer S may have incorrectly adjusted headlights. This affects 3,919 vehicles in the United States, suggesting that some people have actually been able to buy the Wagoneer S. The company wrote that Chrysler will notify customers by May 9.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
