Mattie Fisher was on national TV earlier this year, singing the praises of Chrysler minivans and giving reporters a quick test drive in their own Town & Country.
Now, though, the retired-and-disabled Mattie and Jeff Fisher find that their van needs a new transmission. While the Chrysler automatic has been reliable for many years, the 2011 Town & Country is now 14 years old. Called “Baby,” it was third in its class at the 2021 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals.
The couple, longtime contributors and participants at Allpar.com, have already raised $225 from the site’s members. However, they have a long way to go for the $3,500 transmission job. Perhaps a local Stellpower member might be able to donate some labor or a spare transmission? If not, hopefully the Mopar community will step in to help two of its own. (Contribute here.)

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
