Ram 1500 RHO Racing in the 2024 Rebelle Rally

2024 marks the 9^th annual Rebelle Rally – the first all-female off-road navigation rally raid, covering more than 1,500 miles over 8 days – and a new Ram 1500 RHO will be one of the vehicles entered in the Bone Stock and 4×4 Classes. This new twin turbocharged off-road Ram will be campaigned by Team Brute Squad, comprised of automotive journalists Jill Ciminillo and Kristin Shaw. Team Brute Squad has participated in the Rebelle Rally each of the last two years in Hyundai products, but for 2024, they are graduating to a big power, full-sized pickup.

While the Ram 1500 RHO comes with the latest UConnect technology, the Rebelle Rally doesn’t allow any sort of navigation gadgets from the vehicle or cell phones. The teams have to make their way along the 1,500-mile desert course with just a map, a compass and a guide book hitting set checkpoints along the route. Of course, in addition to the difficulty of navigating their way along the route, they also have to deal with some grueling obstacles along the way, battling the elements through desolate regions of Nevada and California.

“I’m both excited and terrified to be in the 4X4 class this year with the Ram 1500 RHO,” said Ciminillo. “This means we’ll be able to tackle more difficult and beautiful terrain, but as the navigator, it means I also have a lot more opportunity to get us lost! (LOL) Seriously, though, even though we’ve competed in Rebelle for two years, competing with a Ram truck is a game changer.”

As you likely know, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is powered by the twin turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane high output inline-six engine, which delivers 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. When mated with an advanced four-wheel-drive system and Bilstein dampers (similar to the setup on the Ram 1500 TRX), this is the most capable off-road truck on the market today.

“It’s a whole new competition for us this year in the Ram 1500 RHO. Driving the Hyundai Santa Cruz the last two years taught us how to drive smart and pace the rally, and in the RHO we’ll be able to apply sheer power to the course,” said Shaw. “We’re very excited to be among the first people to drive this beast.”
