Stellantis has museums to celebrate the past of companies such as Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Peugeot, but some years ago Fiat Chrysler emptied out the former Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills to make room for Maserati and Alfa Romeo office space. In this context, the appointment of Davide Grasso, head of Maserati and a member of the Stellantis Top Executive Team, to be “chief heritage officer” for all 14 brands is somewhat ironic.
Grasso was CEO for Converse before coming to Maserati in 2019 as chief operating officer. He graduated from business school in Italy, and also has an undergraduate degree in economics.
The role of Chief Heritage Officer is to create “a bridge between their rich histories and their future directions, this global role will build awareness and connections with customers, brands, communities and the various institutions present in the territories where we operate.”
