With today’s announcement of the 2025 Dodge Durango lineup, it seems that the Hurricane twin-turbo six is not going to join the big Dodge SUV. The 2024 engine lineup is still available for 2025, from Pentastar V6 to supercharged Hellcat—and the 5.7 remains between them, possibly because sales of the 2024s were insufficient to go through the stockpile.
The Durango SRT Hellcat is something of a surprise; it still delivers a stunning 710 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque, spinning the heavy vehicle from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. The NHRA certified its 11.5 second quarter mile time.
The Durango continues to have a V6 at the base level, and a 5.7 Hemi as well as the SRT Hellcat. The three-row SUV can have up to 85 cubic feet of cargo space, with towing up to 8,700 pounds. The lineup for 2025 is GT, R/T, and Hellcat. All have UConnect 5 with a 10-inch touch screen, and the GT with Plus Package has a great deal of new standard content.
The 5.7 Hemi produces 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, while the Pentastar V6 is rated at 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The GT has the V6, the R/T has the 5.7, and the SRT has the 6.2. All use eight-speed automatic transmissions. The Durango has standard rear wheel drive except on the Hellcat, which has standard all wheel drive; AWD is optional on GT and R/T.
2025 special editions are the R/T 20th Anniversary and:
- Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet,
- “” Hammerhead, and
- “” Brass Monkey.
The GT Plus Package includes a power sunroof, navigation, Alpine audio with nine speakers, heated first- and second-row seats, vented first-row seats, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, trailer towing, and blind spot monitoring that includes the trailer.
